Zaguan traditionally means stock entrances. In the case of El Torreon Hacienda, zaguan mostly means portico. When work was begun on the hacienda, there was one saguan (A). During remodeling, a new saguan opened through one end of Mario's Quarters (B) offer a spectacular view of Taos Mountain. Additionally, another zaguan (C), between back mountain-view courtyard and orchard yard, was built into the new construction for the restrooms.
